Thoughtful Design

Chirnside Views was specifically designed to create a home-like environment that would resonate with our Residents, by employing a material palette that references local architecture and the surrounding natural landscape, to create a sense of familiarity and calm.

Colour and materiality also assist with way finding throughout the building, with particular focus on memory support.

The design for memory support throughout Chirnside Views was inspired by the idea that: everyone's memories are unique, so every person will interpret and bestow their own meaning upon the items within their new home. This idea is beautifully and eloquently expressed in the story book "Wilfred Gordon McDonald Partridge" by Mem Fox, which informed the initial interior design concept.

The design supports holistic well-being with consideration given to enabling residents, encouraging movement throughout the building, and supporting physical, cognitive and social interaction.

Variety is the spice of life and a key ingredient to inciting happiness and motivation. Chirnside Views offers a variety of spatial experiences for residents including private areas for retreat and relaxation; communal areas for social engagement and a range of entertainment opportunities.

To enhance the experience, each of these specialty areas has its own unique aesthetic and offers a very different atmosphere: from feeling pampered in the salon, to enjoying the company of family and friends in the vibrant cafe with garden vista to children's playground, a glamourous trip to the cinema or soulful chapel experience. The tranquillity of the Wellness and therapy rooms with their biophilic design references and impressive decorative wall tiles. Creativity is encouraged in the arts and crafts area through a "blank canvas" material palette and ample opportunity to display resident's artworks as a rotating exhibition. The Club Lounge exudes style and class with a sense of excitement, celebration and extravagance expressed through rich timbers and gold accents.

Chirnside Views floor plan is based on a small home design philosophy with boutique communities for 18 and 36 residents.

Two Memory Support Communities will each provide accommodation for 18 residents with individualised lifestyle programs.

Each community has its own kitchen, dining room, lounge rooms and sitting rooms with feature destinations such as the cafe, beauty salon, cinema, chapel and the club lounge further enhance the sense of community.

Using soft nuance and encouragement of movement, Chirnside Views welcomes Residents and guests with the warmth and comfort of relaxed living, creating an ideal setting for enablement, lifestyle and leisure.

The warm array of colour and texture gently alludes to organic materials from the outdoor environment and embraces the imperfect beauty of the natural world.

Sophisticated design carries deep soothing tones that create a tranquil atmosphere and lends itself to feelings of well-being. Inviting, reflective and restorative, spaces are designed for the overall wellness of body, mind and soul.
